Jakarta International 10K Run is scheduled to be re-held on May 31, 2015 in order to celebrate the city's
anniversary. The route that will be used for this year will differ from previous year due to Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project along Jalan Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin. The new route has been certified by Indonesian Athletics Association Executive Board (PB PASI).The route is changed for runner safety due to MRT project on old routes
Jakarta Sports and Youth Department Head, Zainal Soelaiman said the run route that will be passed by the participants will start from Silang Barat Daya Monas-Jalan Budi Kemuliaan-Jalan Abdul Muis-Jalan Gajah Mada and turn into Glodok-Jalan Hayam Wuruk-Jalan Medan Merdeka Barta-RRI Building Office, and return to Monas.
"The route is changed for runner safety due to MRT project on old routes," told Soelaiman at City Hall, Friday (5/22).
Jakarta 10K Track Proposed to Be ChangedAccording to schedule, around 1,000 joint personnel will be deployed to guard and secure the race that would be enlivened by 35 thousands runners. "These personnel are from Satpol PP, Transportation Department, Police and community organization," he told.
On the other hand, Jakarta Sports and Youth Department has also prepared a door prize by Rp 911 million. Later on, the race will be participated by 35 runners, they are 10 international runners, 3 sister city runners, and 20 national elite runners, consisting of 10 males and 10 women.
